"A Christmas Luau" Harrison Christmas Parade

Welcome to one of the largest Christmas Parades in North Arkansas. The Explore Harrison Parade attracts well over 100 entries and can stretch over two miles in length. Consequently, here are a few rules and regulations we ask you to follow:

  • The Harrison Christmas Parade is open to all civic groups, businesses, volunteer groups, etc. It is sponsored by Explore Harrison.
  • There will be a $25 entry fee for floats, antique, or decorated vehicles. There will be a $15 entry fee for all walking entries.
  • Deadline for entry is 5pm Monday November 25, 2024.
  • All vehicles must have some decoration on them to be included in the parade.
  • All vehicles not pulling a decorated float must have lights.
  • All entries for judging must be setup and in place by 5:30pm or you will not be judged.
  • Once you have registered for the parade, you will be provided a rules sheet.
  • You will be provided a number for your float when you arrive for setup that will be used for judging in the category you selected.
  • All float entry numbers should be displayed in the driver's side window of your vehicle for the duration of the parade.
  • Walking entries shall have a designated individual displaying their number at the front of their group.

NEW FLOAT STAGING INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2024 (due to Creekside CC construction)

  • General floats, cars, and walkers will stage at the Anstaff Soccer Complex
  • Semi trucks, tow trucks, dump trucks, etc. will be staged at the Creekside Community Center.
  • No entries will be allowed to arrive prior to 12pm at either location.
  • No vehicles will be allowed to enter either location after 4:30pm unless they are pulling a float.
  • High School Bands will setup at the Camp Jack parking lot.
  • For safety concerns, we request that candy not be thrown from a moving vehicle. Candy should be distributed by individuals walking alongside your vehicle/float.
  • Horses entered into the parade should have diapers or have a trail person scooping behind them in order to maintain a clean path along the parade route.
  • The lowest stop light along the route is 13'10". Please take this into consideration with the height of your float.
  • All winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd) will be provided with a banner to display on both sides of their float. These bannersMUST BE RETURNED TO THE EXPLORE HARRISON OFFICE.
  • The designated Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will ride in the back of the parade. NO OTHER SANTA CLAUS or Mrs. Claus will be permitted. Elves and Santa's helpers are allowed.
  • A copy of these rules should accompany the driver/designated person in charge of your entry at the parade to eliminate any confusion or misunderstandings.

AT THE END OF THE PARADE

  • Parade entries are encouraged to go all the way to the Merchandise Outlet parking lot for dismantling and float rider pickup. NO WALKERS SHOULD GO BEYOND SPRING STREET/THE NORTH POLE (OZARK AUTO BODY). PLEASE HAVE EVERYONE ON A FLOAT OR IN A VEHICLE ONCE YOU GO BEYOND THE NORTH POLE (OZARK AUTO BODY).
  • Bands and their buses are encouraged to do the same, but are allowed to leave the parade and dismantle at the Old Sale Barn parking lot.
  • PLEASE REMEMBER TO PICKUP ANY TRASH AT EITHER LOCATION WHEN DISASSEMBLING, CLAAAAARK!

  • ALL applicants and participants are responsible for any and all acts and/or omissions on their part, or on the part of their agents and/or employees, which may result in injury or damage to themselves or third parties. Applicant specifically agrees to hold the Explore Harrison office, Christmas Parade Committee, and the City of Harrison free and harmless from any and all claims arising out of any such acts or omission. The Parade officials hav the right to ask anyone not in compliance with the Parade Rules to withdraw from the parade at any time.
  • The Explore Harrison Annual Christmas Parade is a family themed event and fun for everyone. Thank you for your interest and for your participation. We look forward to the 2023 parade being the biggest and best yet.
  • The Parade will begin at 7pm. Please plan on this event taking approximately an hour and a half to leave the parking lot and up to 2 hours to reach the end (9pm).
